Southern Ford Dealers holds a Driving Hunger Relief Program, and this life-size F-150 was a project to benefit food banks and pantries. Seven canned trucks were built in seven cities: Mobile, AL; Winter Haven, FL; Orlando, FL; Jacksonville, FL, Gainesville, FL; Panama City, FL; and Tallahassee, FL. And the engineers were local schools and youth groups, who built the trucks in only about seven hours!
“This project fit well with our dealer group’s commitment to their communities by bringing people together to work for a good cause,” said Paul Clark, Chairman, Southern Ford Dealers Dealer Principal, Paul Clark Ford, Yulee, Florida. “It was all about people helping people.”
Southern Ford Dealers had enough food items to provide about 50,000 meals for local residents; more than 87,500 canned food items went to local food pantries. “It’s hard for some of us to imagine people waking up hungry in America. That’s why this project seemed important to do,” Paul added. Talk about a “can”-do attitude!
